Lanzar 1600. Questions Please Help

New member Username: XtseePost Number: 1 Registered: Nov-06 | Ok so my lanzar 1600, everytime I turn it on it is fine until I turn up bass booster or volume. Right when i turn it on it is fine I have already replaced the Fuse in the power cord and the fuse in the amp. The Power light is lit up at first but when i turn up the volume or the bass booster it switches to the Protector LED, what does this mean? How do i fix it? I turned all the settings to low also. and this still happens. I am New to this so i have no clue what i am doing plz help. -Josh |

You probably have the amp bridged and the coils on the speaker in parallel. The other alternative would be to leave your amp bridged and put the voice coils in series. Buying a lanzar amp is like buying TOMMY GEAR, instead of TOMMY HILFIGER....LOL @ u saying it is a good brand. All of their amps are intensely overrated and are of poor quality. Lucas I would recommend that you look into Hifonics or something like that if you are on a budget. Also those infinity subs that you have are worthless too. ANY MANUFACTURER THAT PUTS OUT A SUBS/AMP AND IT'S RMS ISN'T AT LEAST HALF OF THE SUBS/AMP, MAX POWER, STAY AWAY FROM THEIR PRODUCTS. I have had Lanzar and Power Acoustik when I first started getting into car audio, and I can personally tell you that they are of poor quality. They put their ratings at 14.4 volts, but those ratings don't reach their real rms ratings, they put like 1000w rms amp. 200x1 4 ohm 14.4 400.1 2 ohm 14.4 600x1 1 ohm 14.4 These numbers you can barely reach them if you have a good electrical system, with minor voltage drops. For example^^^^ and then they put: 400x1 4 ohm 17 volts 700x1 2 ohm 17 volts 1000x1 1 ohm 17 volts But these "real numbers" is hard or even impossible to reach with any electrical upgrade. What's the difference between a 1200w rms, like memphis for example and hifonics 1206d They should have the same output, but the difference is the quality. The hifonics is not bad, but the memphis is better. That happens with lanzar too, you can't compare the f*cking lanzar with a 400$ amp. I'm always trying to help people here. This is a good example: "you need a 0.5 ohm stable amp and you're tight" Lanzar optidrive for 330$ puts 1962w rms at 0.5 ohms with 14.4 volts. Is that bad?? for the money, hell no! i'd go for it, and the quality is decent, you're not buying pyramid or sony. If you can afford better, get another brand. I bought a 1200-1400w rms amp for 145$and 1 year warranty. For the budget is awesome and has more than a year bumping my subs, so get over it lucas, you just try to annoy people all the time. Be happy with your 2000w rms and without your lanzar system. |

But STILL, for the COST, they put out plenty of power. You simply have to be intelligent enough to recognize you're getting what you PAY for, not what's printed in big bold numbers. Those are, as most of us know, just a method to attract newbie's and dumb people, which it seems this forum is full of. Lanzar's become a bandwagon bash brand, and that's fine, I guess, but of the 10 or so Lanzar's I've owned or currently own, I've had only one problem, and that was with the 1200D when it first hit the market. And the two optidrives I've been running for going on 4 yrs have performed perfectly. Lanzar optidrives are rock solid, and if you can get ahold of an older one - they are considered by many to be among the better amps ever sold. But Lanzar sucks...whatever you say  |
