ok i got the Profile AP2000 amp and a eclipse cd5415 for my Cd player thats 5V preouts and my amp said it was 2.0 to 7V Input signal Votage... my q. was where sould i put my gain at? i don't have a DMM or anything like that so please help thanks!

5V timothy and maris that's not a good way to match your gain, bumping the system and messing with the gain at the same time can harm something.
IF the limit is 7V, the half would be 3.5V, so use that as a parameter timothy.
