well every1 on ecoustics knows that i have often recommended ALPINE TYPE R to quite a few ppl since i enjoyed my pair & kept it 4 quite a while b4 finally selling them 2 a guy who was bigging me 4 it - there r very few subs which beat it in its bang 4 $ catagory & it gets loud & plays quite clean .........

Like ROVIN said, the Alpine Type R's are good for the money. Two 12's would be good for anyone starting off in Car Audio. I have alpine type R 15's right now and they keep me happy. Although, everytime I change my HU it keeps on impressing me more and more =).

Yes Chad, the type R's are Clean and Loud :D. I would put them in a sedan or coupe, but for a SUV I need to do bigger. But if you have a sedan or coupe and your a beginner, you can't go wrong with Type R's. I haven't heard the PG Octanes so I'm not saying get the type r's over the octanes, I'm just telling you, you might want to consider them also. And I don't know what type of amp you have, but if you plan to buy a new amp to power any of the subwoofers you plan to purchase, for a budget priced amp, I'd consider a hifonics. Don't hurt me now =).

how about component speakers? are you just looking for subs or do you want the whole package?

you don't want to run too much power unless you want to upgrade your alternator.

Have you considered any of the subwoofers everyone told you about yet?
If so, which one?
What amp you plan to power them with?
Are you going to get a new subwoofer amp?

well i was thinking about the type R yall seem to think they are good but i dont know where to look for them and i havent even thought anout another amp i have one 800w heritage amo and im not sure if that will be enough do you know of a web site that i could go to to look at the type R that yall are talking about or do you think i shoud go with component speakers or the whole pagkage and whats the difference

When Chad said whole package, he meant, are you going to upgrade everything in your car? Because if you have stock speakers, and you have this large amount of bass coming from the rear, your stock speakers won't keep up to the sound so your mainly hearing more bass, less vocals(mids, highs).

www.allcarstereo.com has some cheap alpine type R's.
www.woofersetc.com prices are a little bit higher, but just go there to take a look at them.

well melissa thats why i was saying to go with the fi's case at 300 rms 2 together that would only be 600 rms. Whch would be fine for a cr that has stock speaks and a stock alt the problem with running 2 type r's would be they are 500 rms which is 1krms together. The problem is when u get close to that kind of power your alt might not be able to handle it and your lights will flicker and some other stuff and eventually after time. Not saying right away but your alt will die. I mean most likely your car will be able to handle the 1 k but just incase unless u want to start getting serious stick with lower wattage subs. so try to stay under 1k with whatever 2 subs u get

Look there. Thats my homies...homies crew. Thats jdm style. Nice, clean, simple. Lowered on some nice "racing wheels" with a lip kit <<<< NOT body kit, a lip kit. Black housing headlights if you wish, carbon fiber hood if you want. No wing. Pretty much it. If your going to put graphics anywhere on your car, best place IMO is the rear or rear window. Keep it off the sides and the front.

No offense but body kits, wings, graphics are just plain....ugly. What does a wing do for you? your car is Front wheel drive. Its not going to do anything for you. And a body kit made out of fiberglass will break. But its your car, have fun.
