J/w wondering.. if an amp still powers on but nothing but a hum comes out.. what internally malfunctioned?!

nothing happened to my amps.. just curious cuz i saw a JL amp on the net that i could use to power my components and it was cheap.. but thats what it said..
powers on but just hums.. wonder if its worth fixing if it is fixable ..
that is if no one bids stupid on it
