i know people on here have tryed using home insulation for sound deadning, whats the results? worth it?

I'd like to know this as well.. i heard a lot of people using peal-n-seal .. $1 a foot can't go wrong... if it works i'll give it a shot as well :-)

it is asphalt-based correct?

that would be the only downside next to possibly the adhesive factor(stickyness) i would think of before buying it. give it a shot man:-)

well the home insulation stuff is fiber glass or somehting like that. i remember doing construction one time and that stuff makes you ITCHY! ill probly add it to my list of stuff to get sometime to test out. or maybe ill just steal some from my attic

lol does that stuff really work it would look crapppy though pink stuuuff everywere im gonna try out peel n seal from lowes on my friends car see how it truns out.

well i wouldnt just stick it to my car id hide it under carpeting and stuff in the trunk.

whats peel and seel, not familure with it

peel and seal will peel off in hot weather.. fibreglass insulation is a bad choice seing as how its carcinogenic, im sure you dont want that stuff flyin around in your car all day

another thing i just thought of would be like the foam stuff under carpet, its like 20 for an 8x4ish roll

I've seen a few people use peal-n-seal.. it is rubberbased not fiberglass and it sticks fine as long as you clean the surface well.

first wash it with soap and water and then go over the surface with some rubbing alcohol

I have peel and seal in my Jeep and for the price it is worth it. Didnt stop all the rattle but I can definatly tell a big difference and it sticks fine and I cant smell it or anything... Definatly worth it to me
