New member Username: WhitewonderPost Number: 1 Registered: Sep-06 | I am working on designing my first system for my 1992 Ford Explorer, looking to get a sub and a component system. My main concern is SQ, but loud is good too, just not at SQ's expense. My budget is about $200-300 for the sub, plus whatever an amp is going to cost me. Any suggestions for this price range? Oh, and I'm thinking 12'' for now unless I can get a good reason to go bigger. Also, I know nothing about boxes, except that sealed is the most accurate sounding (so I guess I would get that.) Where should I go about researching how to build one, or a good place to buy one. |

New member Username: WhitewonderPost Number: 2 Registered: Sep-06 | $180 - $280 is a big split, also from 500 - 1000 watts RMS. I can tell that everyone on the forum seems to like the FI q's alot, but which would be the best for pure sound quality? Or is it more of a personal taste, and where could I go to research the differences a bit more? |

Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 5945 Registered: Aug-05 | for pure SQ i would check out the Assassin...the Arsenal is more SQL oriented...even though the assassins will bump. also, check out the Rl-i's if you want pure SQ...you wont need more than 2-300wRMS to fill in the bottom octave |
