I have been using dvdshrink and dvd decrypter to make copies of dvd's, this has worked fine until I attempted to make a copy of 'The Matrix' I did everything as normal (shrunk, decrypt, burn) but when I went to play it, it didn't work on any of my dvd players or even my laptop. The only thing that I can think of that might have had something to do with this is that when I went to play the original on my laptop I had to use some 'Inter Actual Player' instead of my usual one. I tried another DVD and it still didn't work. My laptop doesn't even recognise that their is a dvd in when I try and play it back, same with my other dvd players. I went through and checked all my setting but they seem fine. Does anyone know why the burnt dvd won't work? how do I fix this problem? Thanks
If your laptop can't decode it, then yeah, I would guess it is a form of security... I don't think copying DVDs is the smartest thing to do in the world (and incredibly bad on your laptop's optical drive).
All the heat it produces. CD's finish burning in a matter of minutes, but DVDs can take twenty minutes to two hours, and the heat has no chance to dissapate until the recording has ceased. And heat+electronics=not good.
