ok, i may not have enough information right now to give you but here goes nothing.

i just installed a system into my car.
i have a facotry stereo still
and my remote wire is hooked up to my ignition wire so the sus/amp is turned on when i start the car.

the system sounds great, for about 10 minutes, then it shuts off. if i turn the car off and on again, it "resets" and its fine, until about 10 minutes later when it again, shuts off.

help?

the problem is probably your "gain" or "level" is set to high on the amplifier

another prob. make sure your ground is very SECURE, and has a good connection, aka, you scraped off the paint, and its in contact with bear metal

the gain should be set to the pre-out voltage of your head unit. you first need to find out what that is

We need model numbers of the amps and subs you're using including what impedance (ohms) you have the subs wired for.

I'm guessing your amps are too high powered for your car in one way or another.

Michael, your problem is probably related to speaker ohms load. When bridged, you are exceeding the minimum ohm requirement. Also check the bridged mode wiring. If you short out the terminals, then it will shut down without any signal input.

Tropcial, if after 10 mins of music your amp shuts down, then you have similar problem with Michael. The speaker ohm load is too low. Also check the gain/level setting. Try turning down a bit.

no it dont sgut off after 10 min it just shuts off whenever i try to turn the volume up so i can only kep the volume at a low otherwise whe i try to turn it up it goes on protect so i dont have it bridged anymore so how could i bridge it without it going onto protect .... i have 2 10 inch kikcer comp and a legacy 1800 watt red series but i know legacy sucks it was just a cheap amp that i could aford but now i have a job and gonna be getting 2 re sx 12s and a better amp

If you have the money, then dump that amp before you ruinthe RE SX subs.
Double check the gain/level and VC configuration of the subs.
For 2 SVC, divide the ohm by half in parallel, in series add.
For 2 DVC, divide each sub by half, and then half again for parallel, or add in series.
