so you're saying a 12" arsenal would sound better than a 12" rl-p? and by the way, i want 2 12" and i want them to put out a 2ohm load, and 2 dual 4ohms cant do that, if im correct
15" in both a sealed and ported box. not impressed. it sounded sloppy and kind of rolled from note to note. i think it sounds better on higher notes, like 80hz and above, but if you want that then you have no business buying a 15" sub.
Sorry, but Ascendant audio arsenal is a bit lesser of a speaker, smaller voice coil and smaller motor. The SQ quality is very subjective here. It was probably an install issue, I'm not saying the THD is lower or higher, I really don't know but... Did you even EQ the speakers? The RL-p can not work in a very large box without proper filters or else you'll get massive peaks in a ported box at tuning frequency, and a very rolled off lows in a sealed because the Q is very low. It's much more over motored than the arsenal. Have you even compared THD graphs of the two drivers? That would end the debate. The RL-p is very tuff to beat in any aspect for its price. And when you build the correct system for it, it will best the arsenal in output and most likely in THD @ given SPL and it will absolutely kill it below 30Hz with its higher xmax. The RL-p has all the SQ features the arsenal has + more. Copper shorting ring, woven leads low inductance and a very broad Bl curve.
