Bronze Member Username: MercsablePost Number: 15 Registered: Apr-06 | I have 2 12" type r subs powered getting 850rms. i felt i was under powering them so i disconnected them and had my amp only power one. it was giving the one type r about 1300wrms. i was listening to it at a reasonable level and it stopped working. i know its a stupid question because im pretty sure its blown and when i pulled it out of the box it smelling like something was burnt. what is the problem and what can i do to fix it? |

Silver Member Username: Andysd03Post Number: 335 Registered: Jan-06 | hm why did u disconnect one sub and let all the power go to the other thats pretty dumb 800wattrms to each sub is more then enough. hook the good sub up if it plays well then hook the one u think is blown upto the same spot the good one was and if it dosnt work its blown and if it makes that funny smell it blown only one thing u can do take it back for warrenty or buy a new type R u can get them for 120$ off of onlinecarstereo.com. My advice is get a 10" L5 way better then an R!there not much more either |
