Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 32 Registered: Jul-06 | ok so i keep changing my god damn mind on amps.... i'd like to get a kicker sx1250.1 but its a bit pricey for me so i've kinda narrowed my last two choices down to either the kx1200.1 or a phoenix gold rsd1200.1. Which do you guys prefer? i'd still prefer the ppi pcx1500 though, i just can't seem find one anywhere. |

Jim you should get ED nine 1, go to edesignsaudio.com Puts 1200w rms at 12 volts 1 ohm load. Very good quality, if you join to j-designs, there's a coupon so you can get it cheaper, what do you think??? |

Gold Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 1418 Registered: Dec-05 | yeah, dominican republic rules, (after US territory haha) we don't have speeding tickets!!!! yeah!! and loudness is not a problem here, you can get 20 18s and it doesn't matter if you crank up your system and blow the nature... i like that hehe |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 39 Registered: Jul-06 | haha i wish we didn't have speeding tickets... I'm not so worried about the loud system thing at the moment though...i doubt my stock stereo will get me into much trouble haha. What do you think of cadence audio juiliob? |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2728 Registered: Oct-05 | cadence is a very good brand. their amps are nice and perform well they are in the same league as directed, and alpine |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 40 Registered: Jul-06 | good to know... What about their subs? I was thinking about steering away from the l7's... everyone f*ckin has one lol. instead I'm considering doing one 12" cadence triplx, seeing how it sounds and then later upgrading to two if I like it. Have you guys heard these subs first hand? I've been reading some really good reviews on them |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2730 Registered: Oct-05 | i personally havent heard anyting about their subs... whats ur budget for a sub or two sub? |
Gold Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 1419 Registered: Dec-05 | their amps are good, DK about the subs, what's your budget?? |

Gold Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 1421 Registered: Dec-05 | they have a 1500w rms model, i think they can't go wrong with that, also check eclipse TI |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2732 Registered: Oct-05 | http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/caraudio_subcategory.asp?idCategory=1 01&prodsort=&page=&ipagesize= here is their "new" xxx model. its a branch of the TX series but they dont require alot of power alos. hook that thing up with a 1000 watts amp, and i think its would get fkin loud |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 41 Registered: Jul-06 | well i don't really have a "budget" like i said before I just want it to sound good. I think i am gonna go ahead and buy one of those xxx's and see how it sounds. If i like it i'll get another. Now I just have to find out where the hell to buy one lol. Should i go ported or sealed with that? Juiliob i don't want 1500watts lol i'm not going into any crazy competitions, i just want a lil bit of music ;o) |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2733 Registered: Oct-05 | well, the next step is an amp. if you are PLANNING on maybe getting 2 subs, i would get the DVC 4 ohm sub. The subs only come in SVC too, so get the SVC 4 ohm sub: with one sub -- you need an amp that will do 450-600 @ 4 ohm load and wit two sub -- you need 900-1100 watts @ 2 ohms |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2734 Registered: Oct-05 | for the box, i would prolly go sealed if ur lookin for some good sq. 2.0 cuft per sub would be pretty nice |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 42 Registered: Jul-06 | yeah, i've already been looking into that. Not really sure what I want to go with yet though |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2735 Registered: Oct-05 | this amp will be PERFECT to fit either one sub, or if you want to get 2, it will hadle that too. http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX1000-1-ZX-1000W-CLASS-D-MONO-AMPLIFIER-NEW_W0QQitem Z120014244190QQihZ002QQcategoryZ79829QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem there are not a whole lot of amps that will give you this nice of a match for when you have one sub, or if you want to get 2 |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2736 Registered: Oct-05 | if you can afford it, this would be the best option in your case. |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 44 Registered: Jul-06 | haha thats funny, I just bookmarked that amp on a different site. 2 cubic feet you say? I was just lookin at the manual for the sub on their site and they say 1 cube for a sealed box. Would 2 make a difference? |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 45 Registered: Jul-06 | yeah, affording it isn't a problem. I just have to locate the subs now and i'll be good to go. I'll be sure to let ya know how she sounds when I get it in bassman ;o) Thanks for the help man |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, OR U.S. Post Number: 2737 Registered: Oct-05 | yea no prob. i dont really understand that manual because they say to tune your boxes (ported) to 50's and 60's, lol. thats too high. i would stick with 1.5cuft before sub displacement. you might want to ask someone else for another opinion, but i am guessin that 1.0cuft is the min. for my CVR's, i have each 12 in around 2.0cuft, so i dont know why they say it should only be 1 cuft. like i said, i bet that minimum |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 46 Registered: Jul-06 | yeah I agree that manual is wierd. i'll be sure to give them a call or somethin before I have a box build |
New member Username: Mugen30LimaPeru Post Number: 1 Registered: Jul-06 | here another 3rd world country and the best choices for now are either to stick up to my old Kenwood KRF-X9060D http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/receiver/kenwood-krf-x9060d/ or to go for Denon AVR-1906: 7.1 CH Home Theater A/V Receiver http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/545.asp. Which would ya choose guys? |

Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 48 Registered: Jul-06 | ok Juliob I definitely will give you a review, i'm pretty stoked to find out how they sound. I'm from philly, pa. USA baby ;o) haha. But right now i'm in Texas for business. I just got done talking to a dealer about the subs and he's gonna hook me up with two of the triplex's but he's only got the 2 ohm model in stock so i've gotta find a 1 watt 1 ohm amp now. I'm thinking about going with the cadence daytona DCA 1000. I gotta wait till the middle of next month to order that though, had to spend some money on unexpected stuff. |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 49 Registered: Jul-06 | i mean 1000 watt 1 ohm amp.. i don't think 1 watt would cut it? |
