Bronze Member Username: WarrengPost Number: 46 Registered: Jun-06 | can you not wire two mono channel amps to a dual vc sub |
Bronze Member Username: WarrengPost Number: 47 Registered: Jun-06 | would that not be the same as wiring one channel of a multi-channel amp to each vc |
Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 1298 Registered: Nov-05 | you can do that.... you can strap the amps, or just wire each vc |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 8315 Registered: Jul-05 | yes u can wire 2 EXACT SAME MODELS of amps on 1 dvc sub - make sure all settings r dead accurate cause obviously u wont want 1 coil getting a different signal/power .... www.bcae1.com has a section on it & everything else car audio related ........... |
Bronze Member Username: WarrengPost Number: 48 Registered: Jun-06 | if the sub is 1 ohm what ohm would the amps be running |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 8317 Registered: Jul-05 | who makes a 1 ohm sub ? unless u meant a 2ohms dvc sub connected = 1ohm ... |
Bronze Member Username: WarrengPost Number: 49 Registered: Jun-06 | thats what i meant |
Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 1301 Registered: Nov-05 | well if u have 2 amps, and one 2 ohm dual voice coil, and u run each coil to each amp, both amps will see 2 ohms why not just get one amp? |
Bronze Member Username: WarrengPost Number: 50 Registered: Jun-06 | had a good deal on 2 amps from a friend |
Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 1302 Registered: Nov-05 | how many watts at 1 ohm will they do |
Bronze Member Username: WarrengPost Number: 51 Registered: Jun-06 | 1600 rms each |
Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 1303 Registered: Nov-05 | okay so lets say you have 1 sub...2 ohm dvc each amp will see 2 ohms, and if an amp if 1600 @ 1 ohm, then it will be somewhere around 800@ 2 ohms. so really, you could use one amp, or 2 and it would not be any louder or quiter, you might as well get 2 2 ohm dvc subs, wire each one to one ohm, and then youll get the amps maximum power |
Bronze Member Username: WarrengPost Number: 52 Registered: Jun-06 | $ for the second sub is my prob |
Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 1304 Registered: Nov-05 | then just use one of the amps, less wires, less complication the only advantage to using two amps is that they will run at 2 ohms, which will make them run cooler, and possible have better sound quality ( a much disputed topic) but i would just use one amp. i mean 1600 rms is alot of watts and you should be happy |
