LNB question

Is there a way to tell if I have more than one LNB or not, without climbing up on the roof to physically look at it?

My dish is about 90 inches in diameter, of course when I got it I was new to all this and didn't have a clue what a LNB was. The guy who provided it to me is no longer around.

I was thinking perhaps solely form the menu I could determine how many I have ?

Azzurri,

That is not really true.
I started with linear LNB(121). For some unexplainable reason I can get channels from 119 in addition to 121 channels, Which is for circular LNB....?????

sat 121 is a liniar lnb, 110 & 119 are circular. both 121 and 119 have some channels that are the same on both sat's.

if dish is connected into receiver then you turn
on your receiver to do dish set up . do Setup LNB
and do scan SAT. Then you can check signal go into SAT through LNB . This will help you know how many LNB you have .

Hope this help .

Well Varius, instead of climbing your roof, get binoculars.

BTW guys I'm out here in Costa Rica, so yes it really is 90 inches across (NOT centimetres!)

I get DN fine on 119W (well until the current ECM that is heh)....was just curious if I coudl tell only via the receiver if it has more than one LNB and maybe I"m just not using it correctly (or at all).

But more likely than not I only have one I guess...perhaps this weekend I'll climb up to check it out =)

bui le:

"do Setup LNB

When I go into Installation from my menu, I don't have any option for "Setup LNB".

I'm using a Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra running 277T BIN.

From Antenna setup, on many of the dishes I see 70%+ signal. If I click to edit it though, there are MANY diff LNB types available (Universal 1/2, Dish-Pro, etc... default is Standard) along with Disqec settings and more...

Could I turn any of tese on to find out if my dish has multiple LNBs?
