New member Username: MmasseGuatemala, Guatemala Guatemala Post Number: 1 Registered: Jun-06 | hi, I live in Guatemala, Central America. I have just installed the DTV service, but would like to know if I can get the PPV chanels free. How do I know if I have a Hu card or a P4, P5? I also have a Panasonic receiver, which i used with Sky TV in europe. Would I be able to use it? If those receivers will not work, which receiver should I get in order to be able to see PPV chanel, etc.? Thanks in advance for you help, |

New member Username: VariuscrPost Number: 9 Registered: Jan-06 | I am in Costa Rica and get all of Dish Network fine - my dish is 2 metres in diameter though =) So I think LK is right, you prob need a big dish. |
New member Username: MmasseGuatemala, Guatemala Guatemala Post Number: 2 Registered: Jun-06 | Thanks for your answers. Which receiver should I buy. Is the pansat 2500 ok for this? How BIG would have to be the dish? Any other satellite which covers this region and has the movie chanels? Thanks again |
New member Username: MmasseGuatemala, Guatemala Guatemala Post Number: 3 Registered: Jun-06 | Varius, Which receiver are you using? Did you have to program it in any way to see the Dishnet channels? Are you able to see the movie chanels, also? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks |

I think most of the PPV movie ones are on 110 or another degree, but I only have 1 LNB so cannot access them all at same time. I'm using a Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra, flashed with the new 277T BIN file. |
Silver Member Username: The_wank_artistPost Number: 914 Registered: Feb-06 | Mario and Varius. Unless you are looking for something specific on 119, 110 has way more channels and ppv/sports. So if you only have one LNB, I'd suggest pointing it to 110. Unless as I said you're looking for something specifically on 119. |
Bronze Member Username: VariuscrPost Number: 12 Registered: Jan-06 | Tyler, Ah really? I had thought most big networks were on 119 with only few channels on 110, but most of the PPV there. I'll definately scan 110 then instead and compare the difference to make sure I don't lose any channels I like - thanks! |
Silver Member Username: The_wank_artistPost Number: 916 Registered: Feb-06 | Check out the difference. Notice the last line of the links lists 110 and 119. There you'll find the different channels for the different degrees. Don't get me wrong, 119 has some good channels. When I started out I only had the one LNB on 110, and wanted the 119 to for some of the other channels. But if I had to make a choice, I can live without my MTV. http://www.lyngsat*com/packages/dish110_sid.html http://www.lyngsat*com/packages/dish119_sid.html |
Bronze Member Username: VariuscrPost Number: 13 Registered: Jan-06 | Tyler, Thanks for the links. Quite a few of the channels I watch most often are only on 119, so guess I'll kee that for now... Maybe I'll check into getting a 2nd LNB/switch though =) |
New member Username: MmasseGuatemala, Guatemala Guatemala Post Number: 4 Registered: Jun-06 | Varius/Tyler, Thanks for you replies. One more question: would the Panasat 2500 receiver work fine for this satellite? I mean, will I be able to flash it, to make it work? Thanks again |
Bronze Member Username: VariuscrPost Number: 14 Registered: Jan-06 | Mario, Far as I know it should. I know people here in Costa Rica who are using Pansat 2500a boxes fine with the new BIN. |
