Do you unzip the file first? Do you use the last gtloader?

LK, Eva and all..Thanks for your help over the past several months with key info, etc. I am a newbie and have not flashed my clone before (my "guy" went AWOL). Any suggestions before I try to load the X85BL? Like Danny said, thanks for your patience with the newbie questions.

Thanks.
I read on dsstester that X85BL is clone safe. I can only assume (Spare me the a s s-U-Me joke please) that I have a clone as my original box was a FANSAT (with a sticker over the F).
My system information in my menu says X-85BL
API: 2.56+_EU (dec 15 2005)

Eva,
I am looking to you for help, because you are one of those few who really know how to help others. I have tried a lot to pick up the file for my Pansat 2700A to fix it. I successfully pick it, but when I open it I see weird machine language. I have Winzip on my computer. I do open it with winzip, but I still can't see GTROM Loader. Please EVA, please
(P.S: If there are other posting with solution for my problem, please ignore them and guide me step by step. Please start from complete file name and right web site to pick the file from.)I will be highly thankfu and grateful to you.

Bijal: do you need download both programs gt loader and bin, unzip the files, and open gtloader, run the bin. In dss***tester.com do you can download the program for your receiver.

Hi Eva: It was basically my message, but hijacked by Bijal. Well, it is ok "Bijal".
But Eva, is the dss membership free? I think it is not free. Can you help further?

The dude is "opening" the bin, instead of just loading the bin..

LK- what's your take on the X85BL? Is it "clone safe"? Also, I've looked to see if I can tell if my unit is a clone or not but have not had any luck. Any suggestions? Thanks

X85BL only means its a Pansat 2500 file written by BLacklist...chancysand has been writing the clone safe bins...he uses BL 277 bin , then cleans its up so it won't damage CLONES...then he renames the file 277T bin...the 277T will NOT hurt genuine or clone pansat 2500 or Fortec Ultra's..

in other words, many files are X85BL and NOT safe!...all Pansat 2500 files are X85BL!...the 277T bin is SAFE foe clones !

Thanks LK. Per my earlier thread I have never flashed my unit. I've read Eva's "how to" post and it seems clear enough. I tried to download 277T and received an error message (access to the specified device, path or file is denied.
Could it be my computer? Ok, so I'm a newbie and computer illiterate.. LOL
