I need help!! I have a pansat 2500a and when I enter the new 277 bin, it loads, but then I get knightrider dashes. It freezes up and I can't power it off. I reset the receiver but to no avail it still is flashing dashes. Old bins load with no problem. The last fix I entered keys, turned autoroll off and tp off. Now I try the new bins and they don't load. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to figure this out for five hours. Thanks.
If your receiver is a Pansat clone, then you need to use bin numbers followed by the letter T, so 277T, if I am correct. If you used just the 277 bin in a clone, then you will need to jtag to revive your machine, otherwise its in LaLa land. Other members with more knowledge can inform you more than I can. I speak from experience. I had a cheap Chinese clone go into the same mode, or maybe it was completely dead ( no display ), but I needed to take it back to a shop where they had the proper files to bring it back to life again. I just use this receiver in FTA mode now, to do blind scans, for information purposes only, no more bins....bin there, done that.
Thanks for your reply, but I don't have a clone. The receiver started to do the "dashes" thing after I put keys in and turned tp and autoroll off. I tried putting the 275 bin in and it did the same as the 277. Older bins like 272 and 271 download with no problem. Could this be a result of entering the keys in and turning the autoroll and tp off? I wouldn't think that would have caused problems but I'm a novice at this. I found one thread on another board that the same thing happened to a 2700 receiver. He was told to download the 272 bin to clean it up, then download the 277. It worked for him, but not for me. Any help would be appreciated.
Flash failed is either a defective cable or SERIAL port; or use of the wrong cable or comport.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Here is how to recover from the "Night Rider" (flashing lights):
1. Try re-flashing the factory boot/flash again using the below directions. That gives you FTA ONLY. Follow the above procedure.
2. Then, when that works use the latest flash to get the scrambled channels.
3. Download a channel list and/or do a channel scan on each sat.
4. When flashing, be sure to wait not only until is says done. But you need to wait until it reboots and actually goes to a channel number.
Here are a few tips if you are having difficulty flashing: loading a bin..
I would advise everyone to read a set up guide before flashing. But, since people have been having some problems, I have revised this to provide more detailed information. But this is not intended to be a substitute.
1. Make sure you use the proper serial cable for your receiver: Most Fortec and Pansat use a straight through cable with DB9 females on both ends. The Blackbird, Pansat 2700/3500 and some other receivers use null (crossover) cable, which crosses over pins 2 and 3.
2, With the power turned off, connect it to your computer and receiver using the serial connector. Use serial port #1 if you can.
3. If you do not have a working SERIAL port, you must install one or use a computer that has one. Usb ports do NOT usually work, except on rare ocassions with an adapter.
4. Use the appropriate loader.
5. Select the file. Make sure that it is the correct flash for your receiver.
6. Select the COM port your receiver is connected to. If you do not know, what it is try #1 first.
7. Enter the correct model name and number. Most Blackist updaters do Not require this.
8. Check off the correct function box. Your choices are boot, flash or channel list. To FLASH your receiver you would use FLASH. Most flashes do not require a separate boot; so do not load both separately.
9. Turn on the receiver power from the BACK switch.
10. As soon as you see the lights flash, very first light -- IMMEDIATELY press download. Timing is critical and many vary.
I got correct cable. I can download some of older BIN files with out any issue .276, .282t2 .But when I try to load this bin it gives write failed ER1 error from blacklist loader. I also tried differnet loader, all gives simillar type errors.
LK, I load the 224 bin like you said then loaded the current 277 bin. Still, knight rider lights. Could there be anything else I'm doing wrong? All other bins work except 274 and 277.
U must keep doing this over and over until the dashing nite rider lights STOP after the 224 bin!...u can't load any other bins (277 etc) until U stop the lights...
LK, Thanks for helping me. When I load the 224 bin the knight rider lights stop and unit says "on". Then I load the 277 bin and it goes right back to the lights. Am I missing something here?
my pansat 2500 clone did the same with the new bin today wen i put the old one is ok i exchanged it with a eagle star clon the store could not tell why
Hey I have a pantec 2500 ultra cloned. I used the blacklist stb updater and I recieve an error message "write faild [ER1] I am using the write cable because I also have a Captive works reciever and it works. What can I do to fix this problem ? Thnx Nick
Just loaded the 277T bin in my pansat 2500a and it's back to the knight rider lights. Can't seem to figure whats wrong. Using BL STB Loader 1.4.0.0. Cables are all right. Don't know what to do next. Any other things I'm missing?
i have Loader : v4.03_051005. Bin File:AA-1_700_H20060609_277eEU(N)_bgmain using straight Null Modem DB-9 FF cable to download to ARIZA 700 but everytime get a message Flash Failed.
Can anyone suggest whats wrong.. Checked com port, cable and found nothing wrong. This is the first time I am downloading since last 1 year when I bought. Pls help
...the receiver doesn't like that particular loader ... or its U...
BTW... U have UNZIPPED the bins from the .zip files, didn't U?....U must have, if U used the 224 and got rid of nite rider lights..
so try using another loader and if U have same results, then its something U are NOT following in my previous post about loading bins and having flashing difficulties..

LK, Just somemore info; using BL STB Loader 1.4.0.0. All the other bins go in with no problem, except 275 and 277. I've downloaded the 277 bin four times and had a friend email his 277 (which is working for him) to me with no success. I've put some hours in reading on three boards before posting. I will try a different loader. I appreciate your time trying to help me. I'll keep you posted-I think tommorow I'll take it over to his house just to get another set of eyes. Thanks.
