I have a sony handycam and I'm trying to get my video into my computer to make a DVD. The problem is that they dont have Image Mixer for OS X and the program I do have cant stream from my USB port. Is there a program that will read the video from my USB port so I can import the video?
My older Sony Handycam has both USB and firewire (or iLink as Sony likes to call it). The socket on the Handycam is labeled "DV IN/OUT". iMovie should be able to import from firewire. Needs a firewire cable with the small square-ish plug on one end and the regular connector for your Mac on the other.
If the Handycam has nothing but USB, you'll need a capture dongle for your Mac. You can find these for <$100.
