I was playing around with wiring configurations, and I figured I'd try a 1 ohm load with the 2 L5's(DVC4).. I've had this amp down to roughly .5ohm and its fine, and when I hooked up with kickers in parallel, basically nothing happens, there is VERY little sound, so I turned it up as I watched the subs... I took a quick look at the amp to see if it was clipping, and it was solid red and then the subs started making bass for a sec so I turned it down and then I saw the smoke... Only one of the subs' VC burned though, I have the other one hooked up to 8 ohm right now and its fine... Anyone know why they dont play when wired to 2 Ohm/Parallel?
crown xls-602... they've always been powered with this amp with no problems... I've had 6 subs hooked up to this amp in parallel and it doesnt even get warm, I don't understand why it does this now....
take off the heat cover and look at all the parts, something might be lose or something along those lines. there could have been something wrong with the sub to begine with, it could have had a loose wire, and that amp just knocked it off and blew the sub
