Silver Member Username: Algirard1OH United States Post Number: 164 Registered: Dec-04 | I just built myself a ported box. This is only my second box that I have built. The box is 3.5 ft^3 tuned to 32Hz. So far I like the ported box. The Atlas remains a lot of its sq in this ported enclosure. Hope you enjoy! Also I can't decide how I want to cover the box. I'm welcome to any suggestions. |

Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 508 Registered: Feb-06 | nice and clean, looks like you used a lot of screws. lol |
Silver Member Username: Algirard1OH United States Post Number: 166 Registered: Dec-04 | I might just try some blue vinyl. There really aren't that many screws only 1 about every 4 inches. The box is H20"xD14"xW39", so it is a pretty big box for my ford ranger. Thanks for the comments! |

Silver Member Username: Algirard1OH United States Post Number: 167 Registered: Dec-04 | Yeah its a 15" Atlas. I just wanted to get it in to see how it sounded. I was going to sand it some more and try to paint the port when I covered the box. I should have painted it before I assembaled the box but too late now. The port area is 55.5 in^2 |

Silver Member Username: Algirard1OH United States Post Number: 168 Registered: Dec-04 | I would say that the spl increased quite a bit. I didn't use to be able to move my air freshener but now I can. |

Silver Member Username: WinterfreshpimpChisago, MN America Post Number: 210 Registered: Mar-06 | i plan on building a box soon, what do you guys use to cut the mdf that its so clean like that? also dose it matter what subs goes in the box as long as they are the same size and same rms??? |
Gold Member Username: CenusHicksville, Ohio Usa Post Number: 1712 Registered: Jan-05 | nice, i have the exact same sub, allthough i have 2 and their sealed, how do u like the grill, im thinking about getting the same one for my subs, nice install. |
Silver Member Username: MixneffectOrangevale, Ca. USA Post Number: 890 Registered: Apr-05 | Paint the port a different color, like yellow/white. Make it kool. Everyone has a carpeted box (so do I), but if you go blue, then try yellow/white for the port. You would get my vote. |
Silver Member Username: Algirard1OH United States Post Number: 169 Registered: Dec-04 | Thanks for the comments. Dustin yeah the grill is great. I got it from parts express. I got it to make sure that my subs didn't hit the back of my seats. I used to have the Atlas sealed but I wanted to try it ported to see if it maintained enough sq and it does, so im gonna keep it this way for a while. I like the idea of the different colored port. |
Bronze Member Username: Chirs_bigPost Number: 15 Registered: May-06 | what kind os sub is that, because im gettin a havoc, and i liek ur box so i was wondering if maybe those dimentions would work for miy sub.......maybe u could tell me the dimentions??please |
Silver Member Username: Algirard1OH United States Post Number: 170 Registered: Dec-04 | The sub is a AA Atlas. The box is 3.5 ft^3 tuned to 32Hz. The external deminsions are W39"xH20"xD14" I have had nothing but good experience with AA and have heard great things about the havoc. You should be happy if you decide to get it. |
