I had a separate circuit installed when my house was being built for the home theater components. I think I should have had the whole room on a separate circuit. I have noise coming from my subs. When I turn on the fan there is a loud pop out of the subs. The subs have 3 pins on the power cord. I tried a monster Cable power conditioner level 4 and it did almost nothing to help. What can I do? I think I can hear the microwave when it turns on downstairs. I was thinking about adding a whole house surge protector since I live in Florida but will it do any noise suppression?

Bob, welcome to the forum:-)

That is a very good question. Try posting it anew here:

Jan might be able to help with this.

Can you try unplug the rca, just plug in the power and turn on the fan, see any noise come up?

I had a similiar problem with a sub and simply add a gray 3 prong to 2 prong adapter to the sub plug and the hum was greatly reduced.

I guess you need to find out is ground loop problem, or electric noise from receptacle.
