I listened to them at a shop which hooks up the Thiel CS1.6 to AVI Lab Seris Integrated amp. I felt that CS1.6 sounded real good and had a decent bass even though it's 2-way. However, I find that at times it can get a bit bright. 1) What is a good pairing of an integrated amp with CS1.6? Is AVI a good choice? 2) I am also considering the B&W. Which B&W speakers can I compare with CS1.6 or another other makes/brands? Cheers! |

If you are worried about the bright highs, I would take a look at one of these. The SP3 and H6550 are 38 and 50 watts per channel respectively, and with the speakers 90Db sensitivity, they SHOULD work well with these amps. If you don't like them, you can return them for a refund. on B&W: I am out of my league with this one, because those speaker brands sound quite a bit different from one another. |
