I have read through a lot of threads. Am I correct in understanding that I will not be able to record tv programs to a dvr if I have a digital cable box? If so, is there something I can add to remedy this?
I have digital cable, with HD and a DVR from Comcast (Ann Arundel County, Md). I also have connected a TVIO (series 1), a Toshiba DVR, and a Sony HD TV connected to all 3 DVR's and directly to the cable. I receive the basic channels (about 70) on all of the boxes. I only receive all of the HD and digital channels on the Comcast DVR. I do receive some of the digital channels on my TV but they are undocumented (for instance I get WMAR channel 2 HD, which is 210 on the DVR, on 125.2 on the TV). I use the TVIO to record from the basic channels, I use the Comcast DVR to record the HD and digital stuff, and I use the Toshiba for any schedule conflicts (I have on a number of occasions recorded 4 different shows at the same time.)
