Pioneer VSX-D811 receiver match Wharfedale Diamond 8 speakers?

Anyone got any ideas if the Pioneer VSX-D811 receiver would match well with the Wharfedale Diamond 8 speaker series? I'm especially interested in the musical match of the amp and the 8.4 floor standers.

the pioneer should sound decent, the diamonds are fairly efficient if I remember. I had a 511, it was a good starting point for me, then I moved to 2ch amps which sound just superior in stereo. i dont watch movies much so I canned surround. do you really need 5.1? its a pita, imo, and you get second class sound out of the receiver compared to separates or an integrated. but the best thing is the 811 allows for external amplifiers via preouts, which would liven up the sound. or you could look at something like the nad c320bee which would drive the diamonds to a whole different level, and forget about a clumsy overpriced ht system....
