Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1288 Registered: Aug-05 | Ok, Type-R's get pretty loud. SE's get louder than that. The Assassins get loud from my experience (louder than Type-R's IMO). Kicker CVR's have nearly no sound quality, and are pretty much just loud and annoying. For the SQ area though, stick with RE, Ascendant Audio, SS, JL, or Type-R. Kicker plain out blows IMO (and many others'). |

Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 5127 Registered: Dec-04 | hey alan I have a amp rack with built in fans for your behicle if you are interested I sold my jeep and took it out. this is what it looks like. http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/803384/3 let me know if you are interested. |
Silver Member Username: Baseball1187Columbia, SC Post Number: 586 Registered: Dec-04 | the kicker CVR does not sound that bad in a decent box. i hate how people rag on a sub they've never heard. Me, generally, I'm not one to advise anybody getting a Kicker sub... but they aren't that bad for the price... but yes, there are better out there for the same money |

Bronze Member Username: FrobroWhitehall , MT USA Post Number: 17 Registered: Feb-06 | no like compatition loud like 2 of them crazy loud |
Silver Member Username: Safe_crackerChicago, IL US Post Number: 214 Registered: Jan-06 | ID MAX excellent SQ and real good SPL. Better suited for small seal enclosures but can be used in ported also. Nice and clean...Polo. |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1295 Registered: Aug-05 | Ok, I've heard several CVR setups. None of them have sounded good, rather they sound "tinny". That's not how clean sound quality bass is supposed to sound. For the price of a CVR, but an Assassin and get a woofer that's 10X better! |

Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1297 Registered: Aug-05 | Well, yet again, everyone hears differently as well. |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 5668 Registered: Jul-05 | Tru, I like the way the cvr sounds over the type r, but thats just me |
Silver Member Username: Baseball1187Columbia, SC Post Number: 589 Registered: Dec-04 | me too... SQ is subjective |
Silver Member Username: PelonaPost Number: 644 Registered: Dec-05 | i bet most of you havent even heard a cvr. since everyone knows kicker's solobaric's sound like sh.it and since the crvs are a lower model then them, then they just assume its sq is equal or worse of that of the solobarics. the crvs arent the best sq but theyre not bad. |
Silver Member Username: Baseball1187Columbia, SC Post Number: 590 Registered: Dec-04 | Pelon, i completely agree... |
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 5129 Registered: Dec-04 | I completly agree out of the kicker subs the cvr is deff the ebst sub for SQ. They are'nt somp winners but they are great entry level subs for the average to mid line listener. IMO they sound better the the type r also but I usually don't like to start contovercial threads so I normally keep that to myself. |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1304 Registered: Aug-05 | I like how Pelon ASSumes most of us haven't heard a CVR install, but yet, we all say we have. I'm curious to hear a CVX setup when they become more widespread. I'll be getting my A6004T installed soon, and the shop I go to sells primarily Kicker and Memphis, so it should be a good time to hear the CVX. Although, I also can't wait to show off my Assassins to them, as they also think Kicker and Memphis are the best brands around hehehe. |
Silver Member Username: PelonaPost Number: 645 Registered: Dec-05 | what about the new cvxs? |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1305 Registered: Aug-05 | If you're going to look at the CVR's though, check out Cerwin Vega V-Max's, they get louder and sound better in my opinion. |
Silver Member Username: PelonaPost Number: 646 Registered: Dec-05 | i bet SOME of you havent heard a cvr before. the cvr is a very common sub like the type r. |
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 5130 Registered: Dec-04 | I am a big cerwin vega fan myself |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1308 Registered: Aug-05 | Check out the pics on the thread about "Oldschool" setups in the subwoofer forum. You'll see a lot of Cerwin Vega goodness...That's a lot of the reason I support the brand. They've been around for a long time, and have always made quality affordable products that really deliver! |
