Wednesday, January 25, 2006 - 05:31 GMT I'm going to be running a Kicker 12" 2 ohm 800watt/425RMS sub. Should I get a closed box or a vented one? Which will be better for that low end bass?

Saturday, February 11, 2006 - 04:33 GMT Depends on what type of music you listen to. Jazz, Pop, etc. like a sealed box and the resulting tight bass. Rap tends to favor a ported box for a more boomy sound. Sealed boxes have a greater overall power handling but ported boxes are more efficeint. All depends on personal taste. Tight or boomy bass is the bottom line.

Saturday, February 11, 2006 - 09:36 GMT if they're solobarics, they only tend to work well in ported boxes. sealed really doesn't work with those too well.

Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 13:28 GMT go with a "vented" one. lots more bass. more air is moved, resutling in higher db's.

Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 20:23 GMT well, really if you're after the highest SPL, use aeroports.
