I guess anyone as dumb as I am should not be allowed to own audio equipment but I do. I have a Yamaha RX-V640 reveiver with Paradigm speakers and need to know if I should use + or - dbs when setting my speakers. Is the + dbs louder or is the - dbs louder. I told you I was dumb. Thanks. Soldierboy

Raise the volume and see whether "+" or "-" is displayed.

An A+ answer to a C- question and I'm positive I'm not being negative.

What brought this up?
Are you concerned that the perhaps the labeling of your volume control is backwards?

My kid asked me that...he was wondering about negative numbers at the time.

I think Joe is talking about the individual volume settings for each channel. To answer your question unless you have a strange speaker placement keep all volume settings at "0". If your center channel is a bit higher or lower, more than 24", than your FL and FR speakers you may want to increase it's volume.

Eric, you are correct. I guess I didn't make myself clear. Thanks for the info.
