I have a sony receiver with no subwoofer output. Also the new Onkyo powered subwoofer I bought has only the single RCA jack output (No speaker wire outputs). Anyone know if there is a converter that will work or what output on the receiver to insert the cable from the sub?? thanks

If the reciever has a monitor output(like what you would need to record what you are listening to) that might work as a signal into the RCA pin jack input on the sub. Otherwise your only hope is to get inside the speaker and hook up at the amplifier out put but then if a cross over filter is internal to the amp.and you cant hook up to it, you'll have to put one in at the point you connectup. Radio shack people can probably help you if thats the case. It dosn't sound like your rec. is 5.1 or dolby surround 11.Why are you trying to hook up a sub? If your system is an earlier one it may be 5 channel but the speakers should all be 2 way o r 3 way at least for left/ center/right the rears can almost be anything. If thats the case then you,ll lose not gain by putting in a sub.Hope this helps
