New member Username: PfourdTexas Post Number: 2 Registered: Dec-05 | I am considering buying a dvd burner for my computer and was referred to newegg.com to purchase one. I am looking at purchasing the following if someone could take a look and give me some suggestions, advice etc.: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16827152058 It says that it doesn't come with the cable and screws. How do I know which cable I need to buy? Also is there a website somewhere that will tell me how to install it and then how to use it, what software I need etc. in order to burn copies of my dvds. Thanks |

You will need 2 small screws to hold it in the case. If you have XP, it will find the burner and install the drivers by itself. To copy discs DVD shrink and DVD Decrypter. You have 3 options for ripping discs, use the burner with factory firmware, ripping will be very slow, use hacked firmware which voids the warranty, use a DVD Rom without a riplock. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm http://www.exit1.org/dvdrip/ If you want Decrypter, get it now. As far as I know, that's the only site that still has it. |
