Hey All,

I have a NAD T762 with Paradigm mini-monitors and Paradigm Monitor 9s. I just bought a Velodyne 1200 and hooked up the one LFE cable to the SUB 1 input on the back of the receiver. I have hardly any sound coming out of the sub. The light in the back of the sub is green, so I know its getting power and signal, but I have no thump?! Anyone have a similar receiver or set-up that can give me any advice on how to get some thump out of my sub? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance

Alex,

If you hold your fingers against the sub's drive unit, I am assuming you feel it vibrating. If it's not vibrating then no sound is being generated in fact. Things to check:

1. Have you set the T762 so it now knows there's a sub attached? If you've been using the Paradigms for a while, then it's likely you have the T762 set for 5.0 surround sound.

2. Have you set the crossover frequency in the T762 to an appropriate level? Typically, this is 80hz but it can be a lot lower.

3. Have you set it up with the test tone sweep?

4. What are the settings on the sub (i.e. volume, crossover)?

5. Have you connected the unit correctly? I know it should be simple but there are some gotchas with this unit (e.g. both left and right inputs must be connected it seems). Look at http://www.velodyne.com/velodyne/support/VX10_VRP_Addendum.aspx?sid=604t442v for more info on this.

Regards,
Frank.

Alexander, did you solve your problem? I just experienced a similar problem with my Paradihm PS1000. I solved my problem though with a good Energy Sub cable. I had previously had a (long), cheap Home Depot cable that didn't do the job. Would be interested in knowing if you solved your issue with one of the above suggestions from Frank.
