Amp won't bridge.

I have a problem with my "bridgeable" Earthquake TNT-300 amp. I have tried bridging both channels on the amp...but when I do the power light dims and flickers and I lose all gain and frequency control. Almost appears as though it's overloading it or something??? Any ideas?
