Silver Member Username: NuckParkhill, Ontario Canada Post Number: 859 Registered: Dec-04 | Is there a resonably priced device of recommendation for spl/freq? I have recently had a degradation of my normal device(ears) and would like to see some results, as opposed to guesswork. Thanks! Peace |

A RS meter is not of the highest quality and requires some major tweaks and adjustments to even come close to being useful. Then you have the problem of the room imposing its signature on the sound of the speakers. So whatever you use must be calibrated to the room and the speakers before you begin. Fortunately, for what you want, almost any signal generator will suffice. You can purchase a CD with test tones for a few dollars. How much are you willing to spend for this adventure? If you are checking your hearing, it is best done with headphones. |

I am looking at visual, as well as audible spl/frequency signals,as my old ones arent working so well. A visual meter would be very helpful. |
