I have recently purchased an acer travelmate 8104Wlmi which comes with two 3.5mm audio jacks; a headphone out and a line in. The laptop also has high definiton audio. According to the specification the laptop has an SPDIF output which I presume uses the headphone out.
My speaker system is the logitech z-5500 and i wish to connect this system to my laptop but at the same time make use of the digital advantages of SPDIF. How can i connect the laptop to the speakers if the speakers only have a coaxial digital input?
