Anonymous | I have a working Pansat 2500A. I am about to buy another 2700A, since they no longer make 2500A anymore. I have the following questions.. and would appreciate if an experienced person can help me with the decision. 1. Is 2700A a good choice? or should i go for 3500A? The difference is like $20.i.e $189 vs. $169. 2. I know how to program 2500A. ie - file location, new flash followed by latest bin - i dont think 2500A file will work on 2700a? will it? if not where can i get the procedure and latest bin for 2700a? Thanks for your help. |

I just downloaded 3 files. 1. 2700.zip - contains factor bin for 2700 2. GTRom loader - similar to 2500a BL downloader 3. X-87BL_051124_123_api(N)_newKeyp.zip - latest bin. My question is that all I needed? Is the procedure same as 2500a. i.e - start with factory bin - then new bin Is downloading channel list necessary? I am missing any other steps? Thanks !!! |

Anonymous | My pansat 2700A works fine at one location but does not at the 2nd location. Both locations had professionally installed dishes and LNBs by Dish networks. So I don't think there is any HW issue. I tried deleting all channels installed from location 1 and attempted a fresh blind scan at location 2, but it did not find any TPs. The Quality and levels are like 29% and 0% consistenly on all Echo 3,7, 8.6, nimiq.etc.. I have no clue what's wrong. The BIN is fine, since it works at Location 1. Any hints are appreciated. Anonymous | The switches may be different, but both sites had two dishes. 1 for local US and 2. for international channels and both were installed by Dish Networks. Physcially the two switches look different, but would that cause an issue? since both switches were used for similar programming? |

Here's an example with dish500, using a diseq switch. Physical switch setup: 110 lnb connection going into input 1 on the switch. 119 lnb going into input 2. On the receiver (Installation>Antenna Setup>choose sat): 110 - lnb type: standard, lo freq: 11250, diseq: #1, 22khz: OFF. 119 - lnb type: standard, lo freq: 11250, diseq: #2, 22khz: ON. |

Silver Member Username: Thill1951akalkPost Number: 957 Registered: Oct-05 | To get the 110 and 119.. Open a working channel list with Channel Master. Go to list of Satellites on the left and right click on "Satellites" and then on "Add Satellite". Enter a dummy name. Then look down a few lines and you will find a radiogroup marked "State". Make sure "Select" is selected. Close this dialog by clicking on "OK". Now go back to the list of Satellites and right click again and this time "Reorder Satellites by"/"Degree". This should move the dummy sat you just created to the top of the list. Save the list and then write the list to the STB in the usual manner! |

New member Username: LeejayPost Number: 1 Registered: Dec-05 | Hi All I have a fortec star 7 button digital satelite reciever and i accidentally uploaded the wrong software to it from the fortec star website. I uploaded the fortec star lifetime software to it. I have got the proper fortec star 7 button software for it and i have tried to upload it and it sucessfully uploads but when i switch the reciever off and on again it still displays jumbled characters on the front screen and says and does nothing when plugged into the TV. I have tried to upload new boot files to it using the ALT7Bar downloading tool v1.31 but as soon as you select the file and tell the software that it is a boot file it says "File type Dismatched". I am using boot_Al7bar%20FTA(7)_ver60_040519.bin to try and update it. I have read forum after forum till the cows came home and i think my problem may be unique. Is there any other updating software that could upload the boot file, that might work?? Or any other suggestions??? I have included an image of the front panel when the unit is powered Any Help would be appriciated Regards Leejay  |

Anonymous | you can buy your cable from factory direct. i believe that you need a db9 straight thru cable female to female on both ends etc for fortec receivers. Dont use apansat cable it wont work becuse its is a cross over cable etc |

Dishnet :Nkeys FYI: unless you have a old laptop or desktop with XP pack1 or older windows you can't connect with a USB port and rs232. Al7bar FTA Ultra_050926_282t3_12H_clock_api(NTSC) this will allow you to manually enter the keys in the future How to change the NAGRA2 Key codes (for Fortec Lifetime Ultra only) 1- Press Menu button on your remote control 2- Press right arrow key 2 times Channel Edit 3- Press down arrow key button 2 times, press OK (Code) enter 1010 4- Press the down arrow key to Set Default Key, click OK 5- Press the down arrow key to Nagravision click OK 6- On your top left you should see Nagravision-1...if not, then you've got the wrong BIN version. 7- Press right arrow key until you see Dish Network on top 8- Press the down arrow key once to Key Number 9- Press right arrow key 2 times the from Key Number 00 - 01 - 00 ( Now take notice that on your top left you should see Nagravision-2 now ) 10- Then press DOWN button key to change the keys manually on Key Number 00 11- Enter new Keycode, do the same procedure to enter the the keys on Key Number 01 |
