Square ports are normally made with the same material the box is (mdf hopefully) so it baffles the sound waves unlike plasic so you may get less port noise. Just go with the easiest way. The only thing you need to worry about when you port a box is to tune it to the frequency on the spec sheet of the sub. It wouldn't be horrid if you didn't, just recommended for optimal sound quality. WinISD (Pro) is a good program to determin port length (given you give the diameter/size). |
