Hi everyone newibie here, I hope this is a quick question for someone!! I just bought the receiver today, everything went great until I setup the cable box, no sound. I have it connected using the optical cable, and it's a no go..... I wasn't using the optical cable with the old receiver, so this is new. I've tried to disconnect the optical cable and try just the analog cables, still no sound. I've also tried it having both connected. The only other difference is I'm using the component video cables instead of the DVI cable. I've gone through the setup a million times on the receiver, I must be missing something easy!! The DVD player is working great sound and all!!
Have you actually assigned the particular input on the receiver to the cable box, I.E. assigning digital input 1 to tv/sat? I know whenever I change things around on my system I have to write down what I put where just so I can remember the assignments and program them in afterwards.
