I wanted to get a Panasonic 42" plasma (TH-42PA20) but would like to know if burn-in is a big problem on a plasma tv as it is with a rear projection tv. I will use it for video games and this is when burn-in is most likely to set in. I do not know if I would be better off getting a CRT HDTV like the Toshiba (34HFX83). I will also use it for viewing DVDs. I have read that station logos like the MSNBC logo on the bottom of the screen can burn-in, but would it have the same effect on the tv if lets say you had the tv on MSNBC for 7 hours straight compared to 1 hour a day for 7 days, the logo would have been in the same place for the same amount of time. I also read you can reduce the effect of burn-in by lowering the contrast to 50%. I appreciate any help on this matter.
ish, i do alot of gaming on my pt60lc13. dont get crt or plasma if you are worried about burn-in. for the cost of a plasma you could get a 60" LCD, and be all set when halo 2 comes out.
