hey i have a f-150. Ive got a 15'' mtx comp sub with 1500 watt amp in the back runnin off a blaupunkt headunit and it just doesnt get it done. i want a new one with better features and everything. i dont wanna spend more than 300 dollars though..any suggestions ?

I have an Alpine CDE 7870 CD Receiver. The questions are: Is there any way to brighten the display? It can hardly be seen in the daytime. Next is there any way to update the firmware so it will play MP3 disks?
