Im more into SQ but here this sub can get clean and loud enough. Could you tell me what amps whould be a really good fit for this subwoofer ? Also i know you had said before "IDMAX screams ported" Could you tell me what size box and tuning whould work best for this i do know you own one. I listen to all types of music. I own a CrossFire VR1000D amp -500 x 1 @ 2 ohms http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/products_page.php?id=idmax&type=sub |

Either will give great sound quality and output, I'd go ported if I had the room. ID Max is flexible, sealed, ported, infinite baffle, aperiodic, all give great results with it. I like it ported b/c of the flat response and the low resonant frequency. You can tune it really low. Image Dynamics gives a box recommendation on their site for an ID Max, but I'd go with a large slot port to make sure you don't get port noise at high volumes. |

ID site recommends 2.3 cuft tuned to 28hz for there largest ported specs What do you think ? Here is the link to the spec sheet http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/spec.php?type=encspec&id=IDMAX12D4%20V.3 P.S. What do you think about what amp to use on this? JL 500/1 or somthing bigger ? |
Bronze Member Username: Iwrk4satanPost Number: 27 Registered: Jul-05 | I'm also interested in getting this sub. I have a JL 500/1 to an 8w7 right now. Anyone know how it compares to an 8w7 or 10w7? I was also wondering if I'd have to upgrade to the 1000/1 or if it would sound ok with just the 500/1 to it. |

Either will give great results, I'd go with the larger box. As far as amps, I'd give it around 700-800W RMS at most. You don't really need any more than that. |
