I have a Sony 36" crt hd tv (kd-36xs955) and a Scientific Atlanta CC pmk600. I get a message on my screen telling me the update is in progress and should take about 1 hour. After many times leaving the tv on 6 hours or so it still indicates upgrade is in progress. After reading some posts here I am not the only one having this problem. Anyone have any answers? It seems it is a card related issue, not a tv issue. I did call Sony and there is no firmware updates for the tv which I purchased in September (manufactured in August 2005). The firmware upgrade in progress is usually displayed on behalf of your cable provider when they have implemented a new software version for the CC. You should contact your provider and see if they have done any software updates with the CC recently, if they haven't they need to come out and swap your CC out. If they have, there may be a problem with your signals or the CC got hung up in the process and would need to be swapped out or if the problem is with the signals, address that problem and go from there. Keep us posted
