Burn in is caused by a static display for a long period of time. TV stock tickers, video games and computer display without screen savers, if left on for an extended period will do it. Different types of TV have different resistance to burn in. While it will not burn the projector out, it will display a permanent image. The only way to fix it is by replacing the projectors (very costly) or try to display a reverse image to even out the burn in. However, the second method would decrease the brightness of the projector.
