New member Username: ThejackalKansas Post Number: 1 Registered: Oct-05 | I'm looking to get a sub for my first system, and while I've looked around some, I'm wondering what people would recommend for me. I have a very limited budget which is around $400 for everything. A few subs which I'm looking at are Alpine Type-Rs, Cerwin-Vega V-MAX, And Kicker Comp VRs. Hopefully, I can find somthing that gets loud but doesn't sound like garbage, and maybe some suggestions on amps. Since I listen to lots of rap and rock, It looks like a ported box is the way to go. |

New member Username: ThejackalKansas Post Number: 4 Registered: Oct-05 | I already have an alpine deck and some kenwood speakers. If I'm going with a ported box, are there any decent premade ones that will go nicely with the Type-R, or will I have to build one? |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1736 Registered: Jul-05 | Easiest way to tell if your system needs more juice is if headlights start blinking .... Go slot ported - U will have to go on Alpine's website tech pages & check the rec box volume & tuning freq . A box for it online is about $50 so look for 1 made of 3/4 mdf ,with the rec vol & tuning freq ..... |

Does anyone know where I might be able to get one for cheaper? |
