does anyone know how to hookup the front usb, "1394", headphone+microphone ports on an xblade-sv atx case with an ecs 755-A2 mobo? i can get pics if need be. thanks.
The case came with a pamplet and the motherboard has pin placement instructions as well. all you need to do is to put them in the correct place and be very sure you get the polarities correct, negative and positive don't mix well. Most case connectors have some lind of markings for you to go by and the motherboard manual should tell you the rest. The easiest usb hookup is a one piece with a blank plug in one corner so its impossible to put on wrong, the hardest has individual plugs for each of 7-8 wires and is a real pain. If single type, often there will be an a+ and a- along with a b+ and a b- indicating that the a's go together along one row and the b's on the other row and each to the correct + and - spot on that row, and the black or ground can go anywhere a ground is indicated, and if theres only one it doesn't matter which row. As long as both a's are on one row and both b's on the other, it doesn't matter which row you use for which.
well the case didnt come with any manual or instructions..but on the wires for the front usb (its the individual ones), one usb wire says data +1, data -1, gnd 1, vcc1, and the other cable says data +2, data -2, vcc 2, and gnd2. the mother board manual shows a table and lists pins 1-10, signal name and function..(number means what pin)...1-vreg_fp_usbpwr0-front panel usb power, 2-vreg_fp_usbpwr0-front panel usb power, 3-usb_fp_P0- usb port 0 negative signal, 4-usb_fp_P1- usb port 1 negative signal, 5-usb_fp_p0+ -usb port 0 positive signal, 6-usb_fp_p1+ -usb port 1 positive signal, 7-gnd-ground, 8-gnd-ground, 9-key-no pin, 10-nc-not connected......thats what it says and thats what makes me confused because the book and wires differ.
