i was wandering what will probably be louder....an RE SE 15" in a sealed enclosure or an IDMAX 12" in a ported enclosure. Both enclosures would be be to spec. Im assuming that the RE SE 15 in a ported enclosure would definitely be louder, but that requires 4 cu. ft. for the box, and ill be putting this in the trunk of a cavalier. thanks
your basically saying that my alpine type-x 10" would be louder than that 15 too since it says 1000w rms. Thats just its voice coils' thermal handling. Spl also has alot to do with displacement.
the ID max 12 ported would be louder than the se 15 due to the fact that the ID max is ported vs sealed. Now this is depending that both enclosures are built well and the ported enclosure was tuned to the correct freq. Power given to each sub is another issue. So given the perfect scenario for both subs the ID max would outperform the RE SE.
