hahaha Unregistered guest | if your fortec stopped working, it may be a clone or an original with a slow chipset. the faster ones work well. you can still revive it by using a jtag..for more info, check w w w . a l 7 b a r . t k during off-peak hours...like 12 midnight PST. |

I_test Unregistered guest | To those who use the fortec. The safest loader seems to be the blacklist updated, as MC mentions. IMPORTANT: 1st, SOME OTHER LOADERs DO NOT LOAD THE BIN 281 IN TO THE FORTEC. 2nd DO NOT SCAN BEV WITH FORTEC. My friend did it then he tries amd wait for the pic comes up. It automatically turn off the Fortec. Ffter a while, no more light, I mean the Fortec goes in to COMA. This afternoon I try it to see. After scanning, i wait few secs to see, indeed, it automatically turns on and off twices within less than 30 seconds. To avoid it goes into coma, I have to go to menu and set back to factory setting. Eventually, it erases the list of channels of BEV. I'm safe. Oh, setting back to factory setting before loading new bin can prevent many problem. Bin 281 slow 9-13-05 works well Just let you guys know to avoid it. |

I did a power scan on the 110 and 119 sats. It found a lot of channels. But I noticed it basically rescanned the same channels and now I have all the channels 2 or 3 times. I am also missing a lot of channels only have 2 HBO's 1 p*rn channel and a lot of other channels in between are missing like TLC courtv etc. Just wanted to know if someone could help. |

New member Username: KeyismePost Number: 5 Registered: Sep-05 | nag2 fix Fortec Lifetime Ultra- Flash Instructions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I used the files and the method below on my Fortec Lifetime Ultra unit just last night (Sept. 21, 2005) and it worked straight away. Here are the instructions and the files to flash your Fortec Lifetime Ultra. 1) Download .ultra281_patched_09-31-05-ecmYou can get it here http://fta/central.cm 2) Download to your computer Blacklist STB UPDATER.ZIP. You can get it here http://fta/central.cm 3) Save both files to a directory on your computer and uncompress them. 4) Disconnect your Fortec unit from your TV and connect just the serial 9 pin cable to the unit and hook it up to your computer. Do not power up the Fortec yet. 5) Locate the 'Blacklist STB Updater 1.3.exe' file and run it. Select your COM port. It defaults to COM1. Make sure BIN is selected. The BAUDRATE reads BLKLST and cannot be changed. Use the BROWSE button to locate the ultra281_patched bin but dont hit fix yet 6) Now power on your Fortec using the power switch at the back. Watch the panel in the front. As soon as you see the first green bar appear, hit the 'FIX' button of the 'Blacklist Updater utility. You should now see a progress bar indicating that your unit is being flashed. Wait until you see a 'Complete' and then click 'OK'. That's it. Your unit is ready. You may now power it off and disconnect it from your PC. 7) Hook the Fortec back to your TV and power it back up and it should work .do a scan of all sats and ready to go unless you wanna put in channel list there r alot of threads in here how to do that remember take out / and add o to com on website |

I haven't tried it yet, but it's supposed to correct the freezing problems with some channels. I'll be flashing with this file later today and let everyone know if it works. After its done on the satllite list I see only 3 satillites such as Unused 0, Dish 110 & Dish 119. Before uploaded the channel list I had 345 channels but now I have less working channels than this amount & a lot channels are not working( I have only the dish for 110 degrees).
