HELP!!! My picture package 1.5 exploded inside the drive!!

Dear friends, I've got a Sony Handycam Mini DV DCR-HC42 recently. When I was installing the software picture package v. 1.5 in my home PC the CD simply exploded whithin the drive!! Could anybody help me to tell where or how can I get a copy (just the upsdate doesn't work!) of this software or even a new one? I suppose I can use versions 1.5 to 1.7. Thank you so much in advance!
