I have 6x9" pioneer speakers and a 9851 apline headunit ready for my car, along with a pioneer class D amp which will be for my soon to be apline type x 12"
what i was wondering is do i need to get another multichanel amp for my speakers or will the amp in my headunit (4x50 watt max) be sufficient?
the amplifier in your head unit is advertised as peak power and prolly will never reach that output. If you look closely at the manual it says it puts out about 22watts RMS (I think pioneers put out 22)
You can run the speakers off the deck, but the will play much louder and clearer if run off a good amp. I would def. amp your speakers if you have the budget. Youll never regret it.
