New member Username: Playboy_desPost Number: 1 Registered: Aug-05 | Im getting 2 15 in Kicker L5's and a Kicker KX1200.1 amplifier, the speakers r 2 ohm woofers, the amp is rated at 1200 watts at 1 ohm, i had heard that 2, 2 ohm speakers connected would become one ohm stable? is this true, and do u think i picked a good amp 4 these subs? |

Silver Member Username: SouthernrebelMonroe, Louisiana USA Post Number: 845 Registered: Mar-04 | Desmond, those L5's are DVC 2ohm subs, so that amp is kinda a no-go w/ that pair of 15's. the only wiring config you can get w/ 2 dvc 2ohm subs is a 2ohm load or a 1/2ohm load. I wouldnt try to run that kicker amp at 1/2ohm daily. You can still wire it to 2ohms (series-parrallel) but each sub will only see about 300wrms. the kx1200.1 is a good amp...nice choice, but not a good match in your situation. You can still make your system work if you get those L5 15's traded out for the DVC 4ohm models. that way you can just wire them in parrallel and you will get a 1ohm load. Just see if you can trade the subs out for DVC 4ohms ones. |
