Considering the Aperion power towers versus the Polk LSi15's. Has anybody auditioned these speakers against one another? Any other suggestions in this general price range?

I have read a review on the Aperion towers saying that they were a little boxy and had a narrow sweet spot. LSi15's are highly regarded. They have a Vifa ring tweeter used in $20,000 Revels. I think that I would lean toward a pair of Paradigm Studio 40's in that price range.

epos
infinity
epos
energy
NHT (love my tiny superzeros)
and
wharfdale
are some other speakers that are considered high value for the money.

polk and infinity aren't shabby either.

especially for cheap towers... i'd agree with paradigm which have some pretty big speakers for $500 or so.

i'd recommend against mission M series speakers which i bought based on a couple of rave reviews, but found them excessively bright and fatiguing probably also due to skimpy 1/2" MDF cabinets.

if you have an amp that can handle 4 ohm loads, magnepan's $500 MMGs are surely a steal for midrange speed, coherency and clarity. man are planars super realistic sounding on vocals!

Paradigm Towers for $500.00 ?? Did you mean used ones? The new Studio 100 V3 run for a little over 2k !

To answer the original question....The LSi15 are better than Aperion, no question.

Other towers in the $1500 range??
Paradigm Sudio 60
Focal JM Lab Chorus 726S
Monitor Audio RS8
Energy Connoisseur C-9
Canton Ergo 702 DC

Is your set up for music only or Movies/Music?

"Paradigm Towers for $500.00 ?? "

Actually, these could be the tower version of the Paradigm Titan in the performance line. I believe they are the Phantoms. (2) 6.5" drivers, tweeter, etc. - for $549 a pair, new. Also, there's the Esprit, which is essentially the Titan (on 6.5" woofer, tweeter) in a tower case for $429.00 a pair.

OK, Let's assume they do go for $500.00....what other speakers would you compare them to?
