I have two Diamond Audio D612D4 subs. They'll be powered by a Kicker KX1200.1 at 1 ohm. I need advice on my box.
The specs recommend 0.875 cubic ft. for a sealed enclosure and 1.25 cubic ft. for a ported enclosure. The reviews I've read say these are decent SQ subs. I listen mostly to hard rock and classic rock, but do enjoy a little rap here and there. I want good SQ, but also good SPL. I like hard-hitting punch bass the most, but also enjoy the deep boom sometimes.
Should I go with a sealed box or a ported box? I'm leaning toward ported to get some extra SPL. If I do use a ported box, to what frequency should I have the box tuned?
