I have a hifonics BX1500D and I need help setting the amp gains. On the amp they have 9v as the min and .2v as the max. My cd player has 2v preouts can somebody lend a hand with this.
you should be able to set the gain near peak without distortion, though I suggest not maxing it out, as the absolute peak setting leaves no room changes or extra "cushioning" for headroom. I don't trust the markings totally so I'd be conservative.. set a little bit back from max for 2 volts. If the amplifier clips, or you audibly hear distortion or odd sounds from the sub, decrease the gain till it stop.
